Kreator Members' Biographies

Mille Petroza:

Mille is the heart and soul of Kreator. Is there a better frontman in metal? I doubt it. Mille is one of the three guys who formed the band Tormentor in Essen, Germany in the early 1980's, who later changed their name to Kreator. He is the main songwriter, the lead vocalist and the rhythm/lead guitarist of the band. All the other members have been coming and going, but without Mille there would be no Kreator for us to enjoy.

His unmatched ability to write powerful and yet very emotional thrash metal songs and lyrics has been a great influence to many of today's metal bands. Mille's vocals vary from merciless screaming to more normal singing style, still being very angry and aggressive. On albums like Coma Of Souls he shows that he's a great lead guitarist, too.

Jürgen Reil:

Jürgen Reil, better known as Ventor, is one of the original members of Tormentor and then later Kreator. Probably many thrash metal fans' favorite drummer, as he is mine too. He's FAST! I've sometimes been wondering how the rest of the band can keep up with this guy. You can look for a more solid thrash metal drummer, but good luck finding one!

Ventor has left the band at least twice because of personal reasons/problems, but has always come back .. as he has now! He's back behind the kit for the new album Violent Revolution! The only Kreator album that Ventor doesn't play on is 1995's Cause For Conflict. He used to do some vocals on the first three albums, and still does if they play any of those songs live.

Cristian Giesler:

Christian joined Kreator in 1994 after the Renewal tour when Rob Fioretti left the band. On four studio albums Christian has shown us that he's a decent replacement for Rob, altought the shoes were big to fill. He's a solid metal bassist and a big part of Kreator's rhythm attack.

Sami Yli- Sirniö:

Sami is the newest member of Kreator. In the early 2001 he replaced the previous lead guitarist Tommy Vetterli who chose to part from the band. Sami is a 29 years old guy from Finland and he also plays guitar in three other bands: Jimsonweed, Waltari and All Human Substitutes. But even though his other bands are nothing like Kreator, playing fast thrash metal isn't new to the man. When Mr. Vetterli broke his arm a few years ago, Sami was asked to fill him in on some gigs and summer festivals. He also has played songs like "Tormentor" with his first band a decade and a half ago, so he obviously is a long-time fan too.

Here's a little rundown of his bands and projects:

1987-1989 guitarist in Brainwash

1989-1995 guitarist in Waltari

1995-1999 living in Berlin and Dortmund; tours with Kreator, session studio musician with Tiamat, Kyyria and Grip Inc., making music in In Rags

1999-2000 replaced Roope Latvala in Waltari on "Radium Round" promo gigs and on a European Tour, acoustic guitar on "Evangelicum" live shows at Finnish National Opera

2000-2001 back in Finland, occupied in four bands: Waltari, Kreator, Jimsonweed and All Human Substitutes.

2001- full-time member in Kreator, still plays in the other three bands, as well.
